Softphone Software Review vol. 9 — Ekiga

 

Our review 2022 is getting closer to the first milestone!

We have already reviewed such top rated softphone software as Zoiper, MicroSIP, Linphone, Phonerlite, 3CX, Bria, Blink, and OnSIP. All of them were tested and compared vs Softphone.Pro. We are going to keep this good tradition :)

Today we welcome Ekiga, an open source softphone software formerly known as GnomeMeeting. In a moment later we will put it vs... right, Softphone.Pro!

The final decision is always up to you, we just summarize. OnSIP is light-weighted and free of charge. With that, it looks deserted (the latest version 4.0.2 available on the official website seems to be aged) and works unstable on Windows 10. Softphone.Pro is also lean and provides many reports for little money; the latest release was in June 2022.
